Product Overview
This 110V AC, normally open solenoid valve has 1-1/2” female NPT inlet and outlet ports along with a brass body and Viton seal. This allows the valve to be used with water, air, gas, weak acids, weak alkali, and Freon. For fluids, the viscosity should be below 20cst.
The orifice size for this valve is 40 mm. The valve has a Cv value of 29, which can be used to calculate the flow rate of the valve. Since the valve is normally open, it is in its ‘open’ configuration without power, and in its ‘closed’ configuration while being powered. The valve is unidirectional, meaning media should only flow in the direction of the valve arrow, not both ways.
This valve is perfect for a gravity feed situation since it does not require a minimum pressure to operate. The maximum operating pressure for this valve is 90 psi and it has a temperature range between 15 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit. A pre-filter is recommended in order to avoid any build up in the valve orifice.
The electrical enclosure for the valve has an IP54 rating, allowing for limited protection against dust and splash water from any direction. Since the coil has no polarity, the lead wires are interchangeable. This valve requires 40W of power to function. The response time is also extremely fast, being less than one second.
