2" Plastic Zero Differential Solenoid Valve
Technical Details
Product Overview
Currently the largest Plastic Valve we offer, the PSL-50 Series is completely lead-free and built solid. Made from PA66 Engineered Nylon Plastic, Stainless Steel components and an EPDM seal this valve is made to last.
The PSL-50 is a two-way, semi-direct acting normally closed valve. Semi-direct acting solenoid valves, also referred to as assisted-lift valves are versatile in that they can work from zero bar and manage a high flow rate. With 2” Female NPT Ports and a 50mm orifice, along with the EPDM diaphragm, can control anything from zero PSI up to 75 PSI with a valve flow coefficient of 48 which equates to around 345 Gallons per Minute at 60 PSI! These valves have two ports, an inlet port and an outlet port and must operate in the direction noted by the arrow molded into the body and are Normally Closed. Normally Closed refers to the position the valve is in without power, this valve will be closed without power and open when energized.
We opted for an EPDM diaphragm for this series. We prefer this seal to the NBR or Viton for this particular valve as it holds up better to higher temperatures and pressure. This diaphragm has outstanding resistance to dilute acids, ketones, and alkalis. Along with potable water this valve can be used with air, gas, fuel, and food-grade applications.
The PSL-50 comes with a tough and reliable coil as well. The coils have an H Class Insulation Rating and a IP65 or NEMA 4 waterproof level making it great for indoor or outdoor use. For ease of use this coil comes standard with a DIN connector. The DIN Connector coil allows installers to run their own wires into the screw-down terminals inside the connector. This valve can be configured in any of the five most common coil voltage configurations, 12VDC, 24VDC, 24VAC, 110VAC and 220VAC and can withstand +/-10% of the voltage listed.
A pre-filter is recommended to keep the diaphragm free from debris and the valve functioning properly.
