Manual Ball Valves

MANUAL BALL VALVES

Here at Electricsolenoidvalves.com, we carry a full line of high quality manual ball valves. Our manual valves are available in two-piece, three-piece, and 3-way ball valve options.

What is a Ball Valve and How Does it Work?

A manual ball valve is a device used to control the flow of a liquid or gas running through a system. The centerpiece of these valves is a stainless steel ball which is hollowed out to allow media to flow through it in the open position, but can be turned manually with the valve lever to shut off the flow.

Two Piece vs Three Piece Ball Valves

At Electricsolenoidvalves.com, we carry 2 piece and 3 piece ball valves. These two types of ball valves are designed to be long-lasting and allow the operator to disassemble the valves for cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.

The two piece valve is the most commonly used type of ball valve. They can be disassembled, but must be removed from the system to do so.

A three piece ball valve can also be taken apart for maintenance, cleaning, and repairs, but has the added benefit of being able to stay connected to the system while one end of the valve is taken apart.

3-Way Ball Valves - L-Port vs T-Port

3-way valves are used to mix, divert, and shut off the flow of media. This is why they are sometimes referred to as diverter valves. With a quarter turn of the ball valve lever, the flow directions will be affected differently depending on whether you are using an L-Port or T-Port valve.

L-port valves have a capital L shaped hole in the ball. Each quarter turn allows you to:

  • Shut off the flow

  • Divert the media flow between the left port and the center port

  • Divert the media flow between the right port and the center port

T-port valves have a capital T shaped hoed in the ball, giving one more option. Each quarter turn allows you to:

  • Shut off the flow

  • Divert the media flow between the left port and the center port

  • Divert the media flow between the right port and the center port

  • Open all three ports at once

About our Valves

NPT Threaded Ball Valves

All of our manual ball valves are equipped with NPT threaded ports. NPT commonly referred to as NPTF, FPT or IPT are the most common threads found on most plumbing applications in the USA.

Full Port

The full port (full bore) feature ensures that the ball valve won’t reduce flow when the valve is open. Port sizes are available from 1/4" to 3” full bore.

High Pressure Ball Valves

Our stainless steel ball valves are sturdy and durable, with a pressure rating up to 1,000 PSI.

304 Stainless Steel

The body of our stainless steel manual valves is constructed using 304 stainless steel, along with stainless steel components and PTFE seals. This makes them suitable for general use as well as food-grade and pharmaceutical applications.

Locking Ball Valves

Each of the manual ball valve levers has a built-in locking mechanism that can be used to prevent tampering.
