Product Overview
Replacement Mesh Strainer for Atlantic Valves Y Strainer (Wye Strainer)
Designed to fit Atlantic Valves Y-Strainers theses replacement mesh filters fit our Y-Strainers seamlessly and are available for all size Y-Strainers we carry. Available in 50 mesh, our standard. 80 mesh or 150 mesh finer or less fine applications.
These strainers are made with quality 304 Stainless Steel and Stainless-Steel components.
Reuseable
Strainers are used to remove particles from media. Like a filter they have specified micron sizes to remove particles but unlike a filter, the wye strainer is reusable. This allows these metal mesh inserts to be cleaned and reused rather than replaced. While these are reusable, they can be damaged by large particles or heavy use. It is always recommended to have additional strainers on hand to replace old strainers when necessary.
Extend Valve Life
Due to the nature of solenoid valves, it is especially important to filter out particulates before they can enter the valve, potentially causing damage to the internal components. Solenoid Valves rely on small weep holes to operate properly. Dirt and debris can clog the sweep hole, requiring maintenance and cleaning to return the valve to working order. Installing a strainer inline with your valve is a terrific way to ensure your valve will continue to work as needed. In short, it is much simpler to remove a strainer mesh than a valve, or pump. Particle sizes vary so it is very important to ensure your Y-Strainer has the proper mesh size to filter out the debris in your particular system. Our Mesh replacements are available in 50, 80 and 150 US MESH, this equates to 297, 177 and 89 microns respectively.
Strainers are inexpensive solutions to easily prevent potentially expensive issues. By mechanically removing solids from your media before they enter your equipment, you are both protecting the equipment from physical damage and saving time down the road on labor and replacement costs.
