Product Overview

The RSSM-2-12VDC is our smallest 12 Volt DC Brass valve. This is a 2 way valve configured in a Normally Closed position. A N/C valve will remain in its closed position and only open when power is applied. This particular valve requires 8 watts from a DC power source to function. Its operating pressure is recommended between 0 – 115 PSI. It features a Viton seal which is very versatile across many media types such as air, gasses, water, diesel fuel, weak acids and other chemicals.  It has a solid brass body and encapsulated coil. The internal components feature SS304 parts and copper shading ring. It can withstand media temperatures as low as 15°F and up to 250°F.

This is a fast acting valve that will open in under 1 second. It requires 8 watts from a DC power source such as a standard automotive battery. Its coil is encapsulated and resistant to water and dust, rated IP65. The coil has 5.5” lead wires that can be connected directly to the power source. These wires have no polarity and can be interchanged with the + and – leads.

The recommended operating pressure is between 0 and 115 PSI. There is no minimum pressure required but the valve is not capable of full flow with a gravity feed due to its small 2 mm orifice size. The flow rate of this valve can be calculated with its .2 Cv value.

This unit has a Viton seal which is very versatile and can handle many different media types. Media temperature can range from 15°F to 250°F. Common media types include air, water, gas, diesel fuel, weak acids and other low viscosity fluids.
