Electric 3 Way Ball Valves

3-way electric ball valves are designed to allow the flow of fluids in three directions and are commonly used to control the flow of liquids, gasses, and other materials in systems with multiple inlets or outlets.

Our brass three way electric ball valves are easy to install and operate, and they offer precise control over flow rate and direction and can easily be integrated into your automated systems. Whether you're working on a residential, commercial, or industrial project, these valves are a reliable and efficient choice.

How Does an Electric 3-Way Ball Valve Work?

A 3-way motorized ball valve is operated by an electric actuator that rotates the ball inside the valve to control the flow of fluid and gas. The ball has a hole drilled into it that allows media to flow through it. The ball is positioned within the valve body and held in place by two seats. A seal is installed against the ball to prevent leakage.

When the ball is rotated to a certain position, it aligns with the flow path, allowing the fluid to pass through. Rotating the ball to a different position will then block the flow path, preventing the fluid from passing through.

By using an electric actuator to control the position of the ball, the flow of fluid can be easily and accurately controlled. The actuator is typically controlled by a controller or a control system, which can be programmed to open or close the valve on demand, at specific times, or in response to certain conditions.

Benefits of Electric 3-Way Ball Valves:

  • Easy to install and operate
  • Can be automated
  • Highly efficient and reliable
  • Provide precise control over flow rate and direction
  • Durable with long lifespan
  • Suitable for a variety of applications

When to Use a 3-Way Ball Valve:

Electric 3 way ball valves are ideal for use in systems that require multiple inlets or outlets, such as heating and cooling systems, fuel delivery systems, and chemical processing plants. They are also suitable for use in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. When selecting a three-way ball valve, it's important to consider factors such as the size of the valve, the material it's made from, and the pressure and temperature requirements of the application.

L-Port Electric Ball Valves

An L-Port, or L-Type, 3way electric ball valve has an L-shaped flow pattern. This gives the valve a single inlet port and two outlet port, which allows more precise control of the materials flowing in a piping system. This type of valve is often used in industrial applications such as chemical processing, water treatment, and food and beverage production because of the precise control over the media.

L-Port valves offer multiple flow options. They can be used to divert the flow of media in two directions or shut off the flow completely. Setting the L-shape into a perpendicular position to the flow of materials closes the valves, blocking off the inlet and both outlets. Rotating the ball 90 degrees allows materials to flow between the inlet and first outlet. Rotating the ball further will close off the first outlet and direct media between the inlet and the second outlet.

L-Port Ball Valve Application Examples

Chemical Processing - The L-Port valve can be used to divert the flow of materials between different tanks or processes. It can also be used for blending materials by controlling the flow between different inputs.

Water Treatment - Three way electric L-Port valves control water flow between different treatment processes and also divert water flow for emergency situations.

Food and Beverage - The L-Port valve is often used to precisely control the flow of ingredients and also to regulate temperatures of processing equipment.
