1" Low Pressure Gas Solenoid Valve
Technical Details
Product Overview
Atlantic Valve’s BCM-25 is our largest Low-Pressure Gas Electric Solenoid Valve is the largest LPG valve we offer. With 1” Female NPT ports and a 25mm internal orifice, this valve provides the highest flow rate in our BCM series at 12Cv. Common media includes air, propane, natural gas and many other inert gasses. This specialty valve is engineered with a higher tension stainless steel spring and NBR diaphragm also known as Nitrile Butadiene Rubber or Buna-N which enables this valve to fully close and be completely airtight even with little or no differential pressure. These components along with the brass valve body make this valve popular with propane and natural gas applications which are traditionally too low in pressure for common solenoid valves. They are also all chemically compatible with these two gasses.
The BCM-25 is fitted with an upgraded 510 series coil available in your choice of the 5 most common voltages, 12V DC, 24V DC, 24V AC, 110V AC and 220V AC. For the DC voltages the coils require 32 Watts of power, while for the AC voltages the coils require 40 VA of power. The 510 series coil has an enclosure rating of NEMA 4 / IP65, this rating indicates it can withstand splashing and low-pressure water jets from all angles, as well as protection against dust and debris. This valve can be installed upright but can operate in all positions except coil down, in most applications. This coil has a 43650A DIN connector which increases the enclosure rating by allowing power to be run internally into the coil. For even higher enclosure ratings a PG11 Cable Gland can be installed on the type 43650A connector. It should be kept in mind that the coil temperature does increase the longer it is used and will eventually reach maximum resistance and minimum current, operating the coil at maximum temperatures will decrease the lifespan. It is recommended to factor in a 30 minute off cycle for every 8 hours energized to allow the coil to cool. This coil should be installed where there is airflow available to reduce the ambient temperature around the coil.
This valve is a two-way, uni-directional, normally closed solenoid valve. Two-way refers to the fact that this valve has two ports, however, this valve is unidirectional and can only operate properly when media flows from inlet to outlet as indicated by the arrow on the valve body. This is not a backflow or back pressure prevention valve. This valve is normally closed and opens when power is applied to the coil. This is considered fast open/close as it opens and closes in under 1 second, allowing for fast and reliable flow control.
