3/4" Low Pressure Gas Solenoid Valve
Technical Details
Product Overview
The BZM-20 is our ¾” Brass ZM Series Low-Pressure Gas Solenoid Valve. This is a two-way, normally closed specialty valve designed specifically for use in low-pressure and zero-pressure applications. Two-way refers to the fact that this valve has two ports, both Female NPT, not that the valve can accommodate flow in two directions. Like most solenoid valves this is unidirectional, and flow must be from the inlet to the outlet as indicated by the arrow on the body. If there is backflow or back pressure present a check valve should be installed on the outlet side of the valve for protection.
These Convenient Female NPT ports fit any ¾” Male NPT pipes and allow for toolless installation. Common applications include automating the flow of propane and natural gas in vehicles and being bigger than most standard pneumatic valves this is a great solution for air applications under 60 PSI when a larger connection and higher flow is required. This valve has an internal orifice of 20mm and Cv rating of 7.5. The valve body is brass, the seal is NBR also known as Nitrile Butadiene Rubber or Buna-N and the internal components are high-quality stainless steel. The choice of NBR, Brass and Stainless Steel was made to accommodate propane and natural gas. These materials all offer high chemical resistance and corrosion resistance. The internal components including the higher tension springs and NBR diaphragm allow for a reliable airtight seal at lower temperatures, even when dealing with gaseous media.
This is a normally closed valve and will open when power is applied. This valve automatically closes when power is removed or fails stopping the flow of media. The closing time for this valve is near instantaneous, under 1 second. This valve comes fitted with our 410 series coil with DIN Connection and is available in a variety of voltages,12VDC, 24VDC, 24VAC, 110VAC and 220VAC. For the DC voltages the coils require 20 Watts of power, while for the AC voltages the coils require 20 VA of power. Always ensure your power supply matches the voltage and has ample power. The 410 series coil has an enclosure rating of NEMA 4 / IP65, this rating indicates it can withstand splashing and low-pressure water jets from all angles, as well as protection against dust and debris. This valve can be installed upright but can operate in all positions except coil down, in most applications. It should always be installed in locations with airflow to keep the solenoid coil from overheating.
