New Product Line - Steam Solenoid Valves

ElectricSolenoidValves.com has some new products to share with you.We are happy to announce that we now carry a line of stainless steel solenoid valves for steam applications.

How are Steam Valves Different from Other Solenoid Valves?

Steam solenoid valves are designed specifically for safely managing high temperature media. A general-use brass solenoid valve has a temperature range of approximately 15 to 250°F (-10 to 120°C) whereas our new steam valves have a temperature range of 32 to 356°F (0 to 180°C).

To accomplish this, steam valves are constructed differently than general-use valves, but still use the same mechanisms.

Our solenoid valves for steam applications have a longer neck, providing enough separation between the valve body and the actuator. This change in construction keeps the actuator at a safe distance from the heat that can build up below from hot liquids or steam running through the valve.

The body and components of the valves are made of 304 stainless steel which is more resistant to corrosion and chemical reactions at high temperatures than brass. The 304 stainless steel body is also able to withstand much higher pressure than plastic valves.

What Pressure Range can these Valves Handle?

With a durable 304 stainless steel body, each of our new stainless steel steam valves are rated for pressure ranges of 0-145 PSI for AC valves and 0-90 PSI for DC steam valves.

What Media is Compatible Steam Solenoid Valves?

The valve body and components are made of stainless steel and include a PTFE seal. These materials are compatible with steam, high temperature liquids, inert gas, and air. If you are unsure if your media is suitable for use with our stainless steel steam valves, you can check with our chemical compatibility matrix for compatibility with stainless steel and PTFE.

Are there Other Steam Valve Options?

The current listings on our site show the solenoid valves that we currently have in stock. If there is another size or variation that you need, please contact us or fill out our special order request form.
