Product Overview

The SZW-20-24VAC is a 3/4” Inch, Stainless Steel, 2 Way 24 Volt AC electric solenoid valve that is suitable for potable water, food processing as well as other liquids, gas and air. The Viton seal can handle temperatures up to 250°F and as low as 15°F. This Normally Closed solenoid valve stays closed until power is applied at which time it will remain open until the power is removed. The valve has a solid stainless steel body with a female input and output ports. This is a great general purpose valve that has no minimum pressure requirements and compatible with many types of media.

The SZW-20-24VAC has a 24 Volt AC coil with a voltage range that is -+ 10 and requires 28 watts to actuate. It can be easily connected to a power source with the coils 5.5” lead wires. The valve timing is uncertain but change in position is fast, less than one second. The valve is rated for 100% duty cycle but not indefinitely. A solenoid valve should never be installed as a means of “shut-off” in the event of a power failure. This unit is mountable in any position but preferably coil up.

This model utilizes a semi-direct lift diaphragm making it ideal for gravity feed applications. This means the valve will operate within a pressure range of 0 psi up to 145 psi.

Installation: The lead wires can be connected to + or – as the coil has no polarity. There is also an arrow molded into the valve body that indicates the direction of flow. When installing a solenoid valve we always recommend using an in-line pre-filter to prevent the valve from malfunctioning due to debris.

*Consult a chemical compatibility expert for correct seal and valve body material choice.
