Product Overview

Choose an XR22 wiring option above:

  • 9 to 24V AC/DC (auto detects voltage)
  • 110 to 230V AC

The BVB5CV is a brass body electric ball valve with a ¾” female NPT inlet and outlet port. Unlike most solenoid valves, this ball valve will allow fluid to flow in both directions, eliminate water hammer and requires minimal power to hold position. This makes it a popular choice as an emergency shut off valve that’s triggered in the event of a power failure.

The XR-22 Actuator controls the movement of the ball valve. It is available in a 9V to 24V AC/DC or 110V to 230V AC option. The actuator has the ability to auto detect voltage. The actuator has an internal capacitor that controls the auto return feature while no power is supplied. The actuator is rated IP67 or NEMA 4 equivalent making it resistant to splashes and strong sprays. We do advise the installer to use caution installing the electric ball valve outdoors as it can be damaged in extreme weather conditions. The internal capacitor powers the motor to turn the ball 90 degrees back to its normal position when power is removed. This actuator requires a minimum energized cycle of at least 60 seconds to ensure the internal capacitor is fully charged and has enough power to close the valve completely. Cycle times shorter than 60 seconds may result in partial or incomplete closures.

For convenience a position indicator is installed on the top of the actuator that will show you the position of the valve. It is recommended to install the electric ball valve with the actuator on top.
